power plant
A somewhat lackluster urban exploration spot. A former German power plant that even served as a museum in the past, but is now abandoned. Although, if I’m not mistaken, events are still held there occasionally, and it’s clear that the site is still at least somewhat maintained. We were supposed to stop by there on our way to the excavator, and another group of urban explorers—who had apparently already been there and knew the way in—were supposed to show us around. However, after visiting the excavator, they basically stood us up, to put it politely, and couldn’t even properly describe how to get into the main building. So we went there on our own and managed to explore only part of it—the adjacent building, where, however, there is an old locomotive and a model of the entire power plant on display. Since we arrived at the site with absolutely no information and weren’t sure if anyone was guarding the premises, or if there were cameras or sensors there, and we couldn’t find an entrance from the overgrown rear section, we decided to give up out of fear of hefty German fines, planning to return another time and properly research everything beforehand. This decision turned out to be a very lucky one, because the moment we climbed over the fence out of the grounds, a German security company’s car was already parked in front of the main gate. I doubt they were there because of us—if they were, they probably would have caught us by now—it was likely just a routine inspection, but I wouldn’t have wanted to run into them inside.
