Hello, on March 9, 2026, I visited this abandoned camp for the fourth time. Every time I come back here, I am saddened by the state it is in today. Most of the buildings are gradually falling into disrepair, some parts of the complex are already starting to crumble, and nature is slowly reclaiming the entire site. It is strange to see a place that was once full of life, children's laughter, and camp activities, now in such a quiet and abandoned state. It is strange to see a place that was once full of life, children's laughter, and camp activities, now in such a quiet and abandoned state. Unfortunately, it is clear that it will never look the same as it did many years ago when the summer camp was in operation. History of the complex The roots of this complex date back to the period after World War II, when corporate recreation began to develop significantly in Czechoslovakia. Large industrial enterprises, especially mines, smelters, and other heavy industry, built recreational facilities for their employees and their families. Mountain areas were ideal for this purpose thanks to their clean environment, nature, and opportunities for active recreation. During the 1950s and 1960s, many recreational centers were built, including this one. It served primarily as a summer camp for the children of industrial workers. The entire complex consisted of several accommodation cabins, a main building with a dining room, social areas, facilities for leaders, and various sports and leisure areas. The complex reached its peak during the 1970s and 1980s. Every summer, several camps were held here, usually lasting two to three weeks. Dozens to hundreds of children from various cities in industrial regions came to the camp. The program was typical for children's camps at the time – there were camp-wide games, trips to the surrounding countryside, sports competitions, campfires, evening programs, and various competitions and activities in the forest.

For many children, staying at such camps was one of the main events of their holidays. It was a place where new friendships were formed, adventures in nature were experienced, and memories were made that people often remember even after many years.

However, after 1989, the situation changed significantly. With the fall of the socialist system, the system of company recreation, which was financed by state-owned enterprises, gradually disappeared. Many recreational facilities lost their original funding and their operation became economically difficult. A number of similar complexes were sold to private owners, converted into other buildings, or completely abandoned.

This complex was no exception to these changes. During the 1990s, its operation was gradually terminated and the place began to fall into disrepair. Since then, the condition of the buildings has deteriorated every year. Some buildings have succumbed to time, weather, or vandalism, while others still stand, but their structures are often significantly damaged.

Today, this abandoned complex serves as a silent reminder of a time when similar recreational complexes were a common part of many children's vacation life. Although the place is now abandoned, it still carries a piece of history and memories of a time when it was full of life.

Ahoj, dne 9. 3. 2026 jsem už počtvrté navštívil tento opuštěný tábor. Pokaždé, když se sem vrátím, mrzí mě, v jakém stavu se dnes nachází. Většina budov postupně chátrá, některé části areálu se už začínají rozpadat a příroda si pomalu bere celé místo zpět. Je zvláštní vidět místo, které kdysi bývalo plné života, dětského smíchu a táborových aktivit, dnes v tak tichém a opuštěném stavu. Bohužel je zřejmé, že už nikdy nebude vypadat tak jako před mnoha lety, kdy zde fungoval letní tábor. Fotografie byly pořízeny fotoaparátem Canon EOS 1000D a následně upraveny v programu Canva. Video z této návštěvy vyjde na mém YouTube kanálu během března. Historie areálu Kořeny tohoto areálu sahají do období po druhé světové válce, kdy se v Československu začala výrazně rozvíjet podniková rekreace. Velké průmyslové podniky, zejména doly, hutě a další těžký průmysl, budovaly rekreační zařízení pro své zaměstnance a jejich rodiny. Horské oblasti byly pro tento účel ideální díky čistému prostředí, přírodě a možnosti aktivního odpočinku. Během 50. a 60. let tak vzniklo mnoho rekreačních středisek, mezi které patřil i tento areál. Sloužil především jako letní dětský tábor pro děti zaměstnanců průmyslových podniků. Celý komplex tvořilo několik ubytovacích chatek, hlavní budova s jídelnou, společenské prostory, zázemí pro vedoucí a různé sportovní nebo volnočasové plochy. Největšího rozmachu dosáhl areál během 70. a 80. let. Každé léto se zde konalo několik turnusů, které obvykle trvaly dva až tři týdny. Do tábora přijížděly desítky až stovky dětí z různých měst průmyslových regionů. Program byl typický pro tehdejší dětské tábory – konaly se zde celotáborové hry, výlety do okolní přírody, sportovní soutěže, táboráky, večerní programy i různé soutěže a aktivity v lese. Pro mnoho dětí představoval pobyt v podobných táborech jednu z hlavních prázdninových událostí. Bylo to místo, kde vznikala nová přátelství, zážitky z dobrodružství v přírodě a vzpomínky, na které lidé často vzpomínají i po mnoha letech. Po roce 1989 se však situace výrazně změnila. S pádem socialistického systému postupně zanikl i systém podnikových rekreací, který byl financován státními podniky. Mnoho rekreačních zařízení přišlo o své původní financování a jejich provoz se stal ekonomicky náročným. Řada podobných areálů byla prodána soukromým majitelům, přestavěna na jiné objekty nebo úplně opuštěna. Ani tento areál se těmto změnám nevyhnul. V průběhu 90. let byl jeho provoz postupně ukončen a místo začalo chátrat. Od té doby se stav budov každým rokem zhoršuje. Některé objekty podlehly času, počasí nebo vandalismu, jiné stále stojí, ale jejich konstrukce je často výrazně poškozená. Dnes tento opuštěný areál působí jako tichá připomínka doby, kdy byly podobné rekreační komplexy běžnou součástí prázdninového života mnoha dětí. Přestože je dnes místo opuštěné, stále v sobě nese kus historie a vzpomínek na dobu, kdy zde bývalo plno života.
