Landek Park is undoubtedly one of the most interesting tourist destinations in Ostrava. That's why I thought I would not find anything abandoned here. Well... I was wrong.

Probably the most interesting part is the former engine house of the adjacent Anselm mine. Built between 1907 and 1910, it was used to house a 2000 horsepower steam mining engine. It was scrapped in 1975.

There are several other interesting features on the site. These include an old warehouse under the seating terrace or a large CO shelter hidden behind the old administration building, which now serves as a villa. The...  show more
