This town had a long tradition of textile industry. Thanks to the gentleman who founded this piece goods dyeing and mercerizing plant. Production was carried on here until the early 20th century, when, after technical retrofitting, the company was incorporated into the United Dyeing Works. After further, repeated organisational and technological restructurings, it specialised in the treatment and dyeing of cotton and ba/PES blended fabrics. After the second wave of the 'famous' coupon privatisation, sheltered workshops were set up here, but nowadays only local inadaptables and magnets 'work' here, so that the facilities are disappearing before our eyes. Still, it was a nearly five-hour walk full of enjoyment, interrupted only by encounters with countless local "workers". What would Mrs. Hrudková say?
