On March 1, 2026, I set out for a well-known abandoned hospital, which for many years has been one of the most striking dilapidated buildings of its kind. Upon arrival, the complex appears monumental, but at the same time oppressive. The facade is peeling, the windows are empty, and the silence is broken only by the wind rushing through the corridors. From the moment you step inside, you can sense that this place has seen more than just ordinary years of operation. The interiors are full of traces of time. Upon arrival, the complex appears monumental, but at the same time oppressive. The facade is peeling, the windows are empty, and the silence is broken only by the wind rushing through the corridors. From the moment you step inside, you can sense that this place has seen more than just ordinary years of operation. The interiors are full of traces of time. Long corridors, remnants of equipment, layers of dust, and plaster falling from the ceilings create an atmosphere that seems almost frozen in time. Each room tells its own story – from former wards to operating rooms to technical facilities. The contrast between the former hustle and bustle of medical staff and today's silence is strong and difficult to describe. Unfortunately, this was my first and last visit here. The building is awaiting renovation, which will definitively end its era as an urbex location. On the one hand, it is good that the historic building will be restored, but on the other hand, the raw atmosphere that this place has created over the years of abandonment will disappear. Photos edited in Canva Brief history of the building The hospital complex was built at the end of the 19th century, between 1895 and 1897, as a modern medical facility of its time. It was built in the Neo-Gothic style from red brick and consisted of a main pavilion complemented by additional wings and separate buildings. The complex also included a chapel and technical facilities. For more than a century, the building served the public and was gradually expanded to meet the needs of modern medicine. In the 20th century, it was one of the key healthcare facilities in the region. Over time, however, it ceased to meet technical and operational requirements, and healthcare was moved to a new complex. At the beginning of the 21st century, operations were permanently shut down. After its closure, the complex quickly fell into disrepair. The unguarded buildings became a target for vandals and gradually lost most of their equipment and technical features. The once prestigious hospital became a ruin, which today serves as a silent reminder of its past.

Dne 1. 3. 2026 jsem se vydal do dost známé opuštěné nemocnice, která už dlouhé roky patří mezi nejvýraznější chátrající objekty svého druhu. Při příchodu působí areál monumentálně, ale zároveň tíživě. Oprýskaná fasáda, prázdná okna a ticho, které narušuje jen vítr proudící chodbami. Už při prvním kroku dovnitř je cítit, že tohle místo má za sebou víc než jen obyčejné roky provozu. Interiéry jsou plné stop času. Dlouhé chodby, zbytky vybavení, vrstvy prachu a omítky padající ze stropů vytvářejí atmosféru, která působí téměř zastaveně. Každá místnost vypráví svůj vlastní příběh – od bývalých oddělení přes operační sály až po technické zázemí. Kontrast mezi někdejším ruchem zdravotnického personálu a dnešním tichem je silný a těžko popsatelný. Bohužel jsem zde byl poprvé a zároveň naposledy. Objekt totiž čeká rekonstrukce, která definitivně ukončí jeho éru jako urbex lokace. Na jednu stranu je dobře, že se historická budova dočká obnovy, na druhou stranu zmizí syrová atmosféra, kterou si toto místo za léta opuštění vytvořilo. Postaven byl v neogotickém stylu z červených cihel a tvořil jej hlavní pavilon doplněný dalšími křídly a samostatnými budovami. Součástí areálu byla také kaple a technické zázemí. Po více než sto let sloužila budova veřejnosti a postupně se rozšiřovala podle potřeb moderní medicíny. Ve 20. století patřila mezi klíčová zdravotnická zařízení regionu. S postupem času však přestávala vyhovovat technickým i provozním nárokům a zdravotnická péče byla přesunuta do nového komplexu. Na začátku 21. století byl provoz definitivně ukončen. Po uzavření areál rychle chátral. Nehlídané budovy se staly terčem vandalů a postupně přišly o většinu vybavení i technických prvků. Z kdysi reprezentativní nemocnice se stala ruina, která dnes působí jako tichá připomínka své minulosti.
